Dalat - preparing for the motorbike trip

Our drives picked us up from the bus when we arrived into Dalat, took us to our hotel and then we chatted about the plan for the trip.
We then had the rest of the day to tour around Dalat....thought that we would try out the bike for 2....once we fixed the bike we were good to go for a rental of a $1.00 a day.

Julia in the market

Traffic city at the city center.

Happy little bikers!!!

Sights on the ride to Dalat

Locals...always have a smile on their faces even though they may have miles of biking and walking everyday.
Countryside on our way to Dalat

Dozing off for a few hours....it made the slow and rough bus ride better.

Nha Trang

Sheena, Cara and I spent an afternoon at the Mud Bath Spa.
Not sure why Julia wanted to miss this excitement.

After a power shower you hit the clean hot tubs.

The girls best friend in the morning.

On the bus to Delat - where we start our adventure on the motorbikes for 2.5 days.

First Overnight train to Nha Trang

Our first overnight train to Nha Trang...we arrived 3 minutes before the train was to leave...trying to figure out how we are doing to get 6 people in this little smelly dirty cabin.
If you did not know your cabin roommate before you go on the train, you would know him or her when you got off....thank goodness we did not get the additional 2 roommates.

Working off some steam....push up from the beds....Sheena and I were bored.

Very entertaining workout...

Our little jet legged Julia....she got on the train and slept....yes, missed most of the entertainment. Julia arrived into Vietnam on Saturday night and we had not stopped going since she got there...we ahd already been there for a week so we were good to go....I am sure she was ready to ditch us.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Tunnels were dug that stretched from Ho Chi Minh City to the Cambodiam border, 200 klms of tunnels for tiny people.
Hidden traps

Julia enjoying a rubber corn cob......YUM!!!

Entering the tunnels....there were exits every 30 metres but it felt longer than that when I was in there.

Very hot and claustrophobic. The tunnels have been widened for tourist as the locals are alot small and short than us.

Lotus Flower

Lotus Field - a stop along the way
These girls gave us flowers and let us take their picture

Their home in the middle of the lotus field.

You can eat the little seeds in the lotus plant....high in protein.

Children at work - making $$ for the family

Take a picture of the boys with the snake and pay them.

Almost looks like she is trying to trade her baby.

Siem Reap - Angkor Wat Temple

Angkor Wat - the heart and soul of Cambodia, the largest religious structure in the world that is surrounded by a mout.

Angkor Wat at sunset....not really like we had seen in pictures but still impressive.

Amazing sunset

Killing Fields of Choeung Ek

Graves that have been dug up....alot of bones and clothes also come up with the floods every year.

These are the skulls of females 15 - 20 years of age.

The monument was made the place all the skulls that have been dug up from the killing fields. Each layer is labeled with male/female and approx age.
