Fish Foot Massage - Phnom Penh

We had read and heard about the fish foot massage that you must do while in Vietnam...very different.
Hundreds of little fish swimming around dirty feed just waiting to latch on and bite...it was a pinch that took about 30 seconds to get used to then you could leave your feet. I did not notice much of a difference but that could be b/c my feet were permanentaly dirty for wearing flip flops every day.

There were a couple of big fish in the group that kind of made us nervous when they swam too close to our feet. It definately is an experience that if you get the chance, you should try!!

Our Boat ride to Cambodia

We took a boat from Mekong Delta to Cambodia....sunset on our way to the floating hotel for the night.
Typical sight while sailing the river....very large loads of rice heading to the mill.

We saw alot of gardens along the way....not sure what they are growing...but looks like alot of hard organized work.

On their way to work.....very talented lady sitting on the side of the boat in the vietnamese squat...we tried many time to master this...could not sit for very long. The Vietnamese people can sit all day in this position and get up and walk.

Life on the Boat

Alot of families live and work on their boats. Collecting goods, sailing the rivers.

This is the only life that some of the kids now.

Making rice paper....one lady sits here and pours the liquid on the boiling water, then onto the straw drying rack. The rice paper sits in the sun for 2 hours to dry.

Mekong Delta - southern Vietman

Sheena arrived on Monday night and we started on our bus/boat trip to Mekong Delta...sailed through the Floating Markets and little villages along the way. The first boat had a little motor while the others tagged along.

First few days in Saigon City - Feb 27

Cara and I had a couple of days in Ho Chi Minh city before Sheena arrived. In the market it was very common to see the ladies sitting right beside all the food picking at this feet and then handing out meat....we did not eat here!!!

Ho Chi Minh city....population of 9 million and about 6 million have a bike. The rule is to only worry about what is infront of you. The rule for crossing the street is not to stop or you will get hit.

Street vendor...some of these little ladies are very strong. Pushing and carrying food around all day in the heat.

Today was a great day....my ticket is booked to go to Vietnam for 5 weeks!!! Feb 25 to April 3. Really looking forward to seeing more of the world...spending time on the beach and enjoying the sites of Vietnam.
